If any of these checks fail, you will see a diagnostic warning light on the dash for the corresponding system. Depending on the model year and what country you happen to be in, you may get something along the lines of SRS, a picture of a person with the airbag deployed, or the word airbag.
All of these should be treated as the airbag light. If it comes on for a few seconds as the vehicle starts, that is completely normal and part of the diagnostic cycle. It works in tandem with the system to protect you in the event of an accident. If all parts of this system are not working properly, it can cause the airbag light to come on. It will not work until repaired. Safety belts are still the most important safety feature in the event your Accord crashes.
Turn the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the battery negative cable and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning installation or replacement of the SRS unit, or disconnecting the connectors from the SRS unit. Do not spill water or oil on the SRS unit or the side impact sensors, and keep them away from dust. You could tap the front bumper against a pole or something at, say, mph. That should get rid of the pesky airbag for you.
If this warning light stays on in your Mercedes Benz, that means that there is a problem with the airbags or the components that are part of the SRS system. How do you reset the SRS light? Even if the problem has been addressed, you will need an Airbag scanner to reset the light. Very often the light goes on because of a dying battery. I dont see how they can know for sure if its not. Larry larry I had this problem too. Tried the battery thing, the MES plug light reset and basically nothing works, Most cheap scanners including the Snapon Solus-Pro won't read air bag. I decided to pull the bulb. There are other posts on how to do this. If your in an area that requires safety inspection this won't work cause they look for the light to come on during the start up self test but if not and you don't mind not knowing if the air bags will deploy this is the only guaranteed way to get rid of that pesky light.
By the way, about 6 months later I got t-boned and the side airbag deployed. Hey go get the bluetooth Hyper Tough ob scanner and you can literally make it scan your car for everything it's amazing and you can get specific scanners for your vehicle. I live by this little handy tool. And it's never given me any false reads either just a tip.

Replacing the car horn, and then resetting the SRS light by disconnecting the battery for about 10 or so minutes fixed things.

For safety concern does all car manufacturers replace the srs for free? Or back to what year that the warranty is exhausted? If the car has been in an accident and the air bags went off will the srs light stay on simply because they didn't reset the system or would it most likely be that the scum dealer I bought this pos from didnt even replace the air bags or anything from the accident Considering I didn't even know it was on an accident until I went to register it and when I asked him to fix srs and check engine light before I would buy and he just reset the battery and kept the cat for an extra week and made it seem like he actially did something lol My own fault for being lazy yes I know but hey I own it now and need to fix.
