Kurt was not working and paid nothing toward rent or upkeep but often did things around the apartment Kurt relied on the relationship for support but also claimed that tracy was the only girl he ever loved, until he met courtney. He plans to take advantage while she 'hangs him out to dry' or abandons him by doing him; but he can't be with anyone every night because hooking up has a price--the price being that the girl will eventually fall in love. He finally wants to do right by the girl and ask her on a date and he realizes that many would love to date her so he is simply saying, I know you are a special person and I want to do right by you.
